a big milestone.

ya’ll. preston lee king graduated from THE louisiana state university on Friday! For those of you who have been around for awhile, you know it’s been quite the challenge to get him to this point. let me break it down for you: eleven semesters, six years, four majors. and if there was a hoop to jump through at LSU to graduate, preston probably jumped through it (twice).

one of my favorite verses is Psalm 126:5. It says “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!”

we’ve sown in a lot of tears to get Preston to this point. when we thought he wouldn’t get financial aid. when we still had to pay out-of-state tuition despite both of us working in Louisiana. when his advisor called him to her office in September and told us that he’d been misadvised and would have to take classes next semester instead of graduating in December. when he had to change his major again because he could not find an internship. when he was ready to give up time after time. this list goes on & on. but the important thing is that Preston graduating is not only a huge milestone for us and a huge testament of his character and endurance and perseverance, it’s also a beautiful picture of the Lord’s faithfulness. There is nothing our God cannot accomplish and He does everything in His timing.

and on Friday, we got to reap the shouts of joy! {mine, especially}
